Getting ready for vacation!

Well, I should be packing for our vacation. I should be since we are leaving tomorrow.

Instead I have been playing around on the computer.

A little bit of nothing...

So we had a busy weekend, cleaning the garage and cleaning and organizing the house. I have to say it really feels good to have gotten so much done.

A couple posts ago I showed a teaser of a knitting project I was working on. I finished it up and they are now ready to keep my MIL's tootsies nice and warm this winter....

I have already cast on a beautiful Toofutsies in all shades of pink for myself. I am trying a new spiral eyelet pattern this time. It should be beautiful! I will post some pictures as soon as I get some real progress.

I also got another new doll. She arrived yesterday. The two are just so cute. I have been sewing for them like crazy. Here they are in their new outfits...

I have to take a break from sewing doll clothes now though and start focusing on the kids halloween costumes. I have my work cut out for me this year. Jake is going to be a Sea Captain and Tess is going to be a princess. I bought the most beautiful fabrics and needless to say they are complicated patterns. They should be adorable though!

On another note, Jake will be starting preschool in a couple weeks and I am on the fence as to which emotion to feel right now. I definately need a little bit of a break, but really, Tess is the handfull! She is into everything and is so stuborn. She is also cutting her 2 year molars on top so that puts her in a terrible mood most of the time too! We have been up between 4-6am for the last 4 nights. I feel bad for her because she is hurting so bad. I try to keep her gums numb and she is on a steady stream of Tylenol and Motrin but some days are still worse than others.

AND I LOVE HER!

I haven't named her yet, but my new Sooni Dal doll is the cutest little thing. (after Tess of course!) I have sewn a couple outfits for her so far and I got to take a couple pictures of her yesterday.

I would love to share more, but I am doing a a little fall cleaning today and this was just a short break. I'll share more later, including some of Tess in foam rollers!?!? Now back to work!

Killing Me!

So some of you might know that I have a small collection of Blythe dolls that I started collecting before Tess was born. I put the dolls on hold while she as a baby because I had NO time to give to them. They have been in storage ever since. The other day I came across these girls and I am dying to get one now! Look how stinkin' cute they are! Dare I say the Blythe dolls have been replaced with a new love?!?! The good news... all the Blythe clothes I handmade fit the Pullip Dal Dolls! Yay! Happenings...

Well, it has been HOT here (90-95 degrees HOT!)and humid! So we spent the day at the pool the other day with Jen and Isabelle. I had my hands full with both kids so I didn't get any pictures, but I did get this one of Tess while we were taking a break in the lounge chairs...

Other than that, I have been working on a new knitting project. I am keeping it a secret till its done, but I will post pictures upon completion.

 

And as soon as I am done with the knitting project, I have some new fabric I can't wait to make an outfit for Tess with...

I'll post pictures of that when it is done too. I hope to get it done soon because I promised myself I wouldn't go buy anymore fabric at the new quilt shop I discovered (which I LOVE!) until I finish what I just bought! UGH!

Well, going to the pool today if the weather holds up, so maybe I'll have some pictures. We'll see!

So...

Haven't posted in a while! Been busy doin' nothin' again! But...

I turned 30 today! So I actually have a little something to blog about!

I got my hair done this morning, went to my nieces birthday in the afternoon and then we had a get-together at the Union with all our friends this evening! Had a blast. Have to admit, I actually have a buzz! Can't remember the last time that I did.(Usually I am the DD!) So here are the only two pictures I have from tonight, courtesy of my greatest friend, Jen, who emailed them to we tonight when she got home!

Feathered Friends!

I bought myself a new bird feeder and bird bath for the island in the backyard. I love having all the birds out there and the kids think it is really cool too! I hung it on Monday afternoon and by yesterday it was empty so I guess the birds like it too! Caught a picture of my blue jay. He is a SLOB! He picks through all the seed, throwing it all on the ground till he finds what he wants. He also has come to claim the feeder as his so all the other birds eat what he drops off the ground when he comes around.

If my windows had been cleaner I probably could have gotten a better picture!(Thats what you get, dirty windows, when the landscape crew leaves.) I couldn't open the french doors because they all just fly away. So this is what I have for now. Taken with my 75-300mm telephoto lens at 300mm ISO 100.

I haven't gotten out of bed in almost 3 days.

I have  ran an average temp of

102.5!

and had the worst chills and sweats with terrible body aches.

This has NOT been a great holiday weekend.

Five Fabulous Years!

Well, here we are, our five year anniversary.

Just wanted to say how lucky I am to be married to such a wonderful man. I love him so much and I am so thankful to call him my husband.

Oh So Happy!!

I spent the last three days practically living at my favorite new greenhouse, Wojo's! (They have a 5 year warranty!) I have been buying trees and shrubs for the yard and it just puts such a smile to my face.  I can't wait till the yard is done. They finished the sprinklers today and weather permitting, they will be here tomorrow to do final grade and then...

Oh how wish I could say..

GRASS!

But sod is too expensive for our huge yard and so we will have to wait for the grass to grow! It is still awesome though, any way you look at it.  The yard is looking so much better.  The greenhouse delivers the large trees and shrubs tomorrow, but here is picture so far...

Everything looks a little on the small side right now, but they all get quite large so I had to plant with that in mind. The top left is a Smoke tree and I am totally excited to see this plant in the summer and again in the fall. It gets pretty pinkish-white flowers in July and then in the fall it turns coral/orange/red! All I can say is

WOW!!!

It is like the perfect plant. Beautiful in all seasons!
